As Mitchell Institute events continue to pivot to virtual formats in light of COVID-19, we were thrilled to welcome 85 Scholars and Alumni to join in our first of three MILE II modules. This year, MILE II is oriented around the theme of “you can get there from here!” emphasizing the professional opportunities that are available in Maine, while also embracing the at times meandering nature of our career journeys.
To that end, we were joined by Hope Hall, owner of Sunflower Farm in Cumberland, as well as four Alumni forging their career paths in remarkable (and remarkably different) ways: Mark Ayotte (Madawaska HS 2001, University of Maine 2005), Til Kus (Gardiner Area HS 2012, Brown University 2016), Chelsea Lear-Ward (Hermon HS 2011, University of Maine at Farmington 2015), and Liuke Yang (Fryeburg Academy 2015, Vanderbilt University 2019).
